Built by Utahns, Not Government: As an entrepreneur and small business owner, I have learned firsthand that our economy works best when the government gets out of the way and lets people do what they do best, build, innovate, and create. I’ve met a payroll, navigated the red tape, and taken the risks that come with growing a business. I understand what Utah’s job creators need in order to succeed. That experience drives my approach in the Legislature: keep taxes low, cut unnecessary regulation, and trust the people of Cache Valley and our entire state to build a prosperous future.
Delivering Real Tax Relief: Utahns work hard for their money, and deserve to keep more of it. I am proud that the Legislature has cut the state income tax for the sixth year in a row - a sustained commitment to letting families keep more of their hard-earned money. I remain committed to a business-friendly Utah that champions free-market solutions and let businesses get to work. That means:
Simplifying licensing so entrepreneurs can open their doors faster
Cutting red tape and streamlining regulations that businesses have to navigate
Lowering barriers to entry so more Utahns can turn a good idea into a growing business.
Preparing Utah’s Workforce for the Future: A thriving economy needs a skilled adaptable workforce. I believe in strengthening stronger partnerships between our businesses, our secondary schools, and our colleges and universities, so Utahns are prepared for the demands of an ever-changing economy. Connecting education directly to opportunity positions Cache Valley and Utah as a hub for tech, research, and innovation, while keeping our economy strong and independent.
